What SpouseSaver does

A reimbursement program, not just a generic incentive.

On the live NueSynergy page, SpouseSaver is positioned as a program for spouses who are already enrolled in the employee's medical plan and also have access to alternate employer-sponsored coverage. If they move to that alternate plan, SpouseSaver can reimburse up to 100% of the spouse's in-network out-of-pocket expenses such as deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.

That makes the product materially different from a simple cash incentive. The value proposition is the reimbursement layer after the spouse moves to the alternate group plan.

Eligibility and exclusions

Who can participate and which alternate plans do not qualify.

The live page sets a few clear guardrails around the program:

  • Current enrollment matters: The spouse must already be enrolled in the employee medical plan before moving off it.
  • Newly eligible spouses may not qualify: The live page notes that some new-hire or newly eligible spouses, dependents, or employees may be excluded depending on employer rules.
  • Some alternate coverage does not qualify: The page explicitly excludes HDHP coverage paired with active HSA contributions, along with Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, ACA Exchange coverage, and limited-benefit plans.

The live page also notes that dependents may move to the spouse's plan as part of the transition when the employer's program allows it.
